         these 3 are going to get into trouble when they get older! right now the 2 little ones, elizabeth and alistair, like to look at each other and jabber. the oldest, matthias, likes to get in the middle of them.
      needless to say, i think they enjoy each others company.

beans...not just a magical fruit...

why are there beans on my floor? in our home beans are magical not only because they make us toot but because they let my boy have fun without getting crazy messy. i usually just let him play however he wants, outside the box, half-ways in half-way out of the box, and in the box. the latter results in a stray bean or two down the pants. but it is a relatively clean way to have fun indoors and it's easy to clean up (and we do have our share of bean messes!).  today he decided to use the designated measuring cups and an addition of his own... a dvd case. he filled it up and dumped it out, and then was surprised when it wouldn't shut. a few beans where still hiding. he found them, took them out and closed the case. he makes me smile when his little mind figures things out.

sick days

   well i thought we might make it to summer before catching anything, but alas the girl and i have caught a bug of some kind.  she has been sick for the past 5 days and i felt it coming on last night. the poor girl has never been sick before! this is the type of "first" that you don't want to have-even though its inevitable that it happens. one fun thing, if that's possible, is that she is super snuggly! hopefully in a few days time we will have avoided the doctor's office, and the snuffing, coughing, sleepless nights, and fussy days will subside. it will be nice to see our happy little girly back. it would also be awesome if this little cold didn't hit me too hard. but until then i will enjoy the extra snuggling, the little piglet breathing, and the cutest little sick face you've ever seen!

first hellos
